Dressing Like The Stars: SAG Awards 2018
Welcome to Dressing Like The Stars, my awards season series where I show you how to replicate the best celeb styles on the red carpet!
Although the spirit of #Metoo and #TimesUp were prevalent throughout the 2018 SAG Awards, it wasn't necessarily reflected in the fashion. Black was big, but it wasn't the uniform. However, if there was an overall theme that described most of the looks from the red carpet, it would be accessibility. Although the stars still looked like stars, it doesn't mean that regular people can't also achieve these looks. Here are a few of my favorites from the evening as well as dresses (and jumpsuits) that you can rock no matter your size, style or budget.
Yara Shahidi in Ralph Lauren Collection
As a jumpsuit/romper enthusiast, obsessed doesn't even begin to cover how I feel about this outfit. While there isn't an exact dupe for this overlayed jumpsuit, I found a few similar looks. My fingers are crossed we see more outfits like this all season long.
Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen
While everyone wants to be like Reese, you don’t need to be green with envy. From the color to the style, I hunted down several dresses that have the same vibe. Okay, I'll stop punning terribly now.
Kate Hudson in Valentino
To be honest, I'm entirely sure how I feel about this dress. I haven't made up my mind yet, but I really heart the heart print. It's also a nice compliment to the star print trend that's been really big this year.
Millie Bobbie Brown in Calvin Klein
Millie Bobbie Brown always stands out and this outfit was no exception. For the most part, I've never really been into sneakers, but I like the way she rocked her Converse with a formal dress. I think this is perhaps the most accessible look of the evening. I feel like sneakers with formal dresses are going to be everywhere for the next year and then we will be sick of it. But until we are, enjoy...
Diane Guerrero in Christian Siriano
I feel like Diane Gurrero's two-piece look didn't get enough credit. She was absolutely stunning! To re-create this look yourself, just get one of the tulle skirts below from ASOS (they have lots more, by the way) and add a mock turtle. But you could also go badass ballerina and wear one with a t-shirt. To make the look even more casual, Millie Bobby Brown it with Converse sneakers.
Amanda Salas
Styled by my girl, Ali Levine, Amanda Salas looked classic old-school Hollywood in a black off the shoulder dress by Faviana. Check out these affordable dress dupes, but don't tell Ali I jacked her idea, please.
