Dressing Like The Stars: SAG Awards 2017 Edition
To summarize the 2017 SAG Awards in one word, I have to say it was inspirational. And it wasn’t just the speeches. It was the styles. Every single outfit was so incredibly unique. I started the Dressing Like The Stars series as a way to find versions of celebrity award show dresses that would be accessible to people who don’t have entourages or American Express Black cards. But, last night’s outfits were just so super custom that there was not one dress dupe to be found. Trust me, I look EVERYWHERE! But don't be disappointed, there are many dresses that share similar elements. So once you put your own spin on these celeb looks, you're guaranteed to be mistaken for a movie star. Remember to smile when the paparazzi try to take your picture.
Julie Lake
Julie Lake was styled by my favorite celeb stylist, Ali Levine, who put her in a custom dress by Matthew Christopher. Red can be your new black in Amsale's Jaycie Drape Strapless Chiffon Gown.
Viola Davis
In what was my personal favorite look of the night, Viola Davis simply stunned in Vivienne Westwood. While not an exact dupe, this strapless Jill Stuart dress is pretty darn close.
Sophia Bush
Sophia Bush looked marvelous in a magenta dress by Marchesa. Look pretty in your own pink dress from Laundry By Shelli Segal.
Giuliana Rancic
Giuliana Rancic rocked the red carpet in Yousef Al-Jasmi, but you can rock any kind of flooring in this blush beaded gown by Adrianna Papell.
Shannon Purser
Shannon Purser looked anything but strange last night in a full on tulle gown. Betsy & Adam's Lace-Trimmed Hi-Lo gown captures her glam in a way that won't terrify your dry cleaner.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman wasn't kidding around in her ready for the runway Gucci gown. Dress The Populations's Elizabeth Sequin Midi
will have you ready for any event
Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek was a ray of sunshine in Gucci. Apiece Apart's Reina One Shoulder Ruffle Dress steals the flounce neckline just a few shades away. Choose pink accessories to further Samlafy your look.
Natalie Portman
Mommy-to-be Natalie Portman looked radiant in this bell sleeved Christian Dior dress. Luckily, you don't need a bump to appreciate her maternity style because we all just want to be comfortable sometimes. This ASOS dress is a bit shorter and more casual, but shares a high neckline, bold bell sleeves and has an equally forgiving shape.
Yara Shadidi
Yara Shadidi's Naeem Khan dress was a fashion risk that paid off. While I've rarely seen stripes that work, unless they're Missoni of course, her dress was the exception to the rule. Phoebe Couture's Sleeveless Halter Striped gown has a fun, but sophisticated vibe with vertical stripes, which are frankly more flattering for most body types.
Maisie Williams
Maisie Williams amazed in Charlie Braer. It was one of the most talked about looks of the night. Trust me, people won't shut up when you wear this Faux Wrap Satin Dress by Band of Gypsies.
